How would you compare it to the game?
I don't remember much of the anime? I'm still on the first episode.
From what I remembered of the anime, I definitely knew what was going to happen while playing the game. There were little to no surprises to what will happen? The game did skimp on a lot of the action that was shown with the Hacker Army (like all that crazy Yamaneko getting the last bit of the Metanus GX code from inside a storm thing totally didn't happen; in the game it was: win Akihara King and then get the code).
But pretty much the first episode is word for word following it, with the exception of battles, obviously.
BECAUSE HOW DO YOU WORK WITH THE AIs IN YOUR PARTY IN THE GAME I STILL DON'T KNOW. They did use quite a bit of creative license in the battles, like in the first battle using the AX-00, there is no way in hell you can beat a Deqoo in one hit.
Well, okay, the bit where the three clowns go in with their Deqoo is also slightly different. In the anime, they just charge in without thought with their LBXes, but in the games, they wonder how they're going to get in and shit and then decide on using their LBXes. Oh and the introduction bit where they're at Artemis looking back; the game does it right before they enter Artemis while the anime is after the first round.
It was kind of fun laughing at everyone's reactions at their discovery of Hiyama being the Big Bad, but honestly, knowing that made some of the lines in the games make a lot more sense?? Like. Uh. You actually get the foreshadowing? Without forgetting it by the time it makes sense because you already know (kind of like rewatching, but you know).
Honestly, they're not much different, but the game allows you to go at your pace. And button mash. And I really like Odin and Pandora and Assassin, though I'm being weird and running about post-game with Kaiser and Fairy.
The game has more frankensteined LBXes in random encounters.
Though... AX-00 is, well, Achilles. AX-02 is Kaiser. AX-03 is Fairy. THEY NEVER MENTIONED AX-01?!?! Like, that's still bothering me.
The game is super inconsistent with what scenes have voices and what scenes don't. And which scenes are anime cutscenes or which scenes are generated cutscenes. Like there are some scenes where I REALLY wished it was voiced and some that I was like, wow. really.
The game is more fun in the way that it's more interactive, but so far, I don't see that big of a difference?? Again, maybe it did have details that the anime left out, I dunno yet since I'm ONLY ON THE SECOND EPISODE NOW.
