Same case here...I took three years of Japanese in high school. Plus watching a shitton of anime, that's basically what I'm using to translate. Basically, I can only really translate simple stuff like Pokemon.Kids shows, essentially (though Origins is surprising violent!?). ;u; I took a placement test at my uni, and they gave me 12 credit hours (3 semesters) of Japanese for free, basically. So, I have no reason to take foreign language anymore, since that basically covers most of my Gen Eds.
Though these closed captions are helping a shitton.

Yeah iirc I took 2 years in high school that were accepted by the uni system to qualify for GEs so it allowed me to get out of the foreign language req in uni... and as an Electrical Engineering major it wasn't something I could easily just take up in uni.
