I can be considered part Peranakan (means descendants of Chinese migrants who wed with local Malays, and doesn't become Muslims) (actually I don't have a Malay ancestor, but somehow we practise some of the tradition, at least until my grandmother's generation), but the zongzi are not as specified there.

The ones we make is with pork (fat belly part), chestnut, red beans (not the adzuki beans, we use the smaller one) and salted egg yolk
