Honestly trading really intimidates me, and I really just have never actually bothered trading in any game I've ever played.

Besides Wonder Trade, but that's random and I like that.

It depends on what the other person chose. If they say yes, but you say no, the trade ends. If you say yes, and they say no, it ends.
