Get a 3DS and Pokemon. It's completely justifiable. It'll help regulate stress. Keeps you from going insane due to schoolwork and other things.
That and there's plenty of other good games that have been out and are gonna come out.

Well there are other games on 3DS I enjoy a lot. Fire Emblem Awakening... If you like 999, the next installment Virtue's Last Reward also has a 3DS version (the other being a vita). I am really, really enjoying Pokemon X right now. You can practically trade as soon as you get pokeballs I think. I didn't have a reason to until after I beat the first gym (which is fast ~20 min or less).

My parents aren't too appreciative of video games.
Actually, they're fine with me buying games on occasion.
It's just the one-time console cost tends to throw them off.
Hahahaha... one of my, like, eventual things is to get a JPN 3DS as well? So I can get InaIre 1-2-3 Endou Densetsu and DanSen Baku BOOST and DanSenW whateverthe3dsreleasewascalled. In fact, right now, I kind of have more JPN 3DS games that I want than ones available in english.

I was also thinking maybe getting one of xy for jpn and one for usa because of that. but heh. maybe I should get my first 3DS before I think about a second one.

Black Friday is coming up, so maybe you could see if there's any good deals for the 3DS then? Might make your parents more receptive to it.
Yeah. I'm hoping. I want one of the original 3DSes over the XLs, so maybe those will be reasonably priced then.
Well, even if they have language selection, they're probably still region locked?
And I'm not wanting 2 different regions' 3DSes for Pokemon; it's so I can play jpn games, like inazuma eleven and stuff.
I was just thinking about trading with myself; why i would get two different regions' pokemon games.
there are SO MANY awesome games for the 3ds. you're missing out by not getting one. And they're cheap right now, you can get a pre-owned one for like $150
