Yes, it was made for chemistry people.

But more for the organic chem people.

Most of the chemical used were organic compounds (everything except for sodium acetate and hydrogen peroxide), which is why you are required to use an organic base, since a large portion of organic compounds do not dissolve in water (hydrophobic).

Random question, but what is Bromine?

Sodium acetate is an organic compound.
