    And now Hagaren Gao's AMVs!

Youtube really does NOT do your videos justice. Your choice of clips play well with the audio. I am impressed by them all~ :o *totally did not burst into giggles and say "hyuck, he shore did" in a weird Goofy impression when she saw the way end of Tai's video*

[Japanese] Request for some Japanese help

I'm glad it worked out and that you had fun! :DD They probably felt very nervous in a foreign place, so just being able to communicate like you'd planned set them at ease. It was a good idea. ^^

[Japanese] Request for some Japanese help

"na" is usually the casual manly man sound, while "ne" is all-purpose. I think the book wanted to clarify that you shouldn't pronounce "ja ne" as it's written, because intonation is also part of speaking.

That's what I first thought, too. xD Hmm, perhaps... gakkou no inshou wa dou desu ka (what is their impression of the school) [or if you don't want to talk about school, replace 'gakkou' with something else] -- nihon to chigaimasu ka (is it different from japan) [this question...

    [Japanese] Quickie Translation

One suggestion I found useful is looking at how each character is written. シ is written the same as its hiragana counterpart, し (down and ending in a upwards loop). ツ is written the same as つ (going to the right and looping down to the left). If you remember that, hopefully you won't...

[Japanese] Request for some Japanese help

What does a hostess do, exactly? I can't help while this is a vague area. Perhaps you can look up things about the land where Oki Gakuen is and ask them questions about their hometown. Small trinkets would be nice; like keychains or the like. Something that can be held in the hand. I...

    日本語、話そう!

You have the same birthday as I do. That's why I said "the same." From your responses, it didn't sound like you understood what I meant, so that's why I took out sentences and bolded "onaji."

    Kanji needs clearing out.

What miforever didn't mention is that kanji has two different ways to read them. One is onyomi, the other is kunyomi. Onyomi is based on the original Chinese pronunciation of the kanji. You usually read this when the kanji is part of a compound (has another kanji attached to it to form the...

    An idea for learning Japanese

Well... I think you're going about it in a more complicated manner than you need to, but give it a shot and see how it goes.

    An idea for learning Japanese

If you have Windows XP and want to type Japanese, check out this link. To view Japanese instead of boxes, I think you do: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Check the box that says "Install files for East Asian languages" Unless you have a really old PC, there's no...

[Japanese] Need someone to translate this for me.

*twitch* Er, no, you've only got your weird sentence romanized and a translation that makes no sense in English... *sigh* Whatever. Garbage in, garbage out. This thread is apparently something you tried to write in Japanese (but failed) and want to justify by putting an English translation...

    Picked up Japanese from subs?

    Anime is a good way to pick up words here and there if they're repeated often and you know beyond a doubt what they mean, but not something you'd want to learn solely from. Please take those classes if you can. "Ikuzo." ^^;
