I spent ~ $15 on a burger (+ money on drinks, chili cheese fries, apple crumble so my bill was more than $15...) at a place called The Counter. Build your own burger with great ingredients.

When it came to me I looked at it and told my friends, "I don't know how to eat this. It's huge." I got a 2/3 lb burger patty (measured AFTER cooking) with quite a few toppings... The guy who brought us the food said, "Oh it'll work. You won't even hurt your mouth. Just squish (press down on the burger) and cut in!"

I did it and it was amazing. Only problem was that when I squished the tomatoes ended up getting the bottom part of the bun mooshy. Found out that the best way to handle that is to just turn it over. Win.

So. Delicious.

I think they're starting to branch a little but it doesn't seem like they'll move much from the west coast. We've got Five Guys now... I guess we just need to try White Castle. I've seen really bad frozen grocery store ones that look really gross though.

Yeah, they're not coming here anytime soon, though we do have Five Guys around. Their burgers are a little on the greasy side, but I like 'em.

I don't mind greasy as long as it's not TOO greasy. Five Guys definitely hits that almost too greasy side. But I like them. And their fries.

Yeah, they're stuff is great. Burgers are kind of a different experience for me though, since I have celiac disease I always have to order stuff without a bun.

In-N-Out is the best for that, they let you order with it wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. It's awesome.

That is correct.

Eating at fast food restaurants becomes an interesting affair when asking for it to be prepared with no bun, it messes people working taking orders up. Especially if there's someone new taking our order and no manager or something to help them.
