What about a person who... only read the first 6 books, never seen part 1, and really doesn't care much about the series...?

I already got mine today, and his package is still lost somewhere "In Transit".
You will be completely and utterly confused. Part 1 is all the plot with little in the way of action, part 2 is all the action with little in the way of plot.
Part 2 without part 1 or reading the book is impossible to comprehend. Although I did find the action fairly crappy. Everyone uses the same damn attacks throughout the movie.
I know what happens in the 7th book. o_o I never read it, but I know what happens. More accurately speaking, I read a lot of spoilers and like a three page summary before I got my hands on the book. And after getting the book, I read bits and pieces.
So I won't be completely and utterly confused... I'll just be completely confused.
But... good to know either way. /sigh/ Now just have to wait for the DVD to show up in my brother's mailbox... and then wait for him to come home to give it to me so I can watch it (this process may take a while). D: I might just give up and watch the last movie when it comes out on DVD. >_>;

I kinda get how you feel, I bought my brother books for Christmas, thinking he would like them better than me, but then I found I had a book of the same series from awhile back that I hadn't read and found I really liked it, and he has a million books he wants to read before he'll even get to the books I bought him that now I want to read, but since their his I can't touch them until he finishes them.

Speaking of flame wars, I haven't tried to start one since that time on the old Dats.
Except people were too respectful here, and instead of the light flame war I was hoping for, I got a thoughtful debate.
I believe it was about how Naruto ripped off Hunter X Hunter, which came out a year before Naruto.
I had not taken into account that there were no Narutards here. And there was an ungodly amount of Hunter X Hunter fans.
Turns out a respectful debate is almost as fun as a flame war, except it requires actually thinking instead of just requiring impossible amounts of undying devotion to a series.
Fun times.
