I just tested something on the 3DS and found out something cool. While the 3DS is region locked to only play 3DS games from the region you bought in, you can still play Japanese DS games on it.

I just tested something on the 3DS and found out something cool. While the 3DS is region locked to only play 3DS games from the region you bought in, you can still play Japanese DS games on it.

Any Japanese DS games that were released prior to the DSi are playable on any region's 3DS.

Post-DSi stuff will be region-locked.
