Except it's written by the guy who wrote Madoka and Psycho-Pass, so I'm assuming that the characters are going to die horrible deaths.

I actually like Suisei no Gargantia more than Shingeki no Kyojin.

Which series you like more depends on the relevancy to your interests. They are both really good.

Also, I'm trying not to get too involved with the characters in Gargantia because I know that Urobutcher is probably going to kill them off at some point. I'm also failing miserably at doing so.

Yeah, both are good anime, I like them both, but I just like Suisei no Gargantia better. And everyone has different likes, and opinions.
