I'm probably better versed in Chinese Mythology, legends and history than Japanese stuff. Since I could choose my own topics I for some reason studied Chinese and Korean ancient history stuff a lot.

I am rather fond of the Red String legend though. It's an interesting concept to me. Probably because of the whole inescapable destiny controlling you without you being about to jack shit about it thing.
