Because they are wholly two different Pokemon (Gen Is... *shakes head*)

I know that they have different numbers; But basicly they are the "same" Pokemon just with different Genders (and nothing agains Gen I, it´s the best Gen!)

But because they were introduced before genders were introduced, they are two different Pokemon!

But because they were introduced before genders were introduced, they are two different Pokemon!
One thing worth mention is their evolved form have different name. This makes them different Pokemon.

Yeah, but a male Kirlia can become a Gardevoir OR Gallade, but it´s still the same Kirilia as a female one (eventhough it can only become a Gardevoir) (Or like Waumpel can become 2 different Pokemon too - It´s kind of a point of view thing)

And I still wonder why Nidoqueens are unable to breed....

Also worth to note is that Nidoqueen is the only "Nidoran"-family member who does NOT have the opposite´s genders colour when shiny
