Server Downtime Saturday Feb. 9

Dear Valued Client,

Due to a fire in a Commonwealth Edison vault several weeks ago (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-cbot-fire_webjan25,0,2323842.story) Commonwealth Edison has inspected all transformers in the building. After completing the inspection several transformers will need repairs.

Unfortunately our Chicago datacenter will be affected and will experience approximately 3 to 5 hours of downtime to repair a high voltage elbow on the transformer that supplies power to the facility. Work is scheduled this Saturday February 9th starting around 08:00AM CST.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. While we are disappointed in having this downtime it is understandable to fix the problem now to avoid the possibility of a larger problem in the future. If you have any questions about this announcement feel free to email us.

So yeah, we probably won't be available for those 3-5 hours. I'm 90% sure we're in the Chicago datacenter. But maybe we're not, as so we won't have the downtime.

This stuff isnt really easy to understand if it aint in your native language (I meen the letter). Anyhow this downtime is better then melted down transformers which would cause an unexpected downtime, and if we would be out of luck it would take hours.
