Do Otakus realize how easy they are to manipulate?

We work on WWII vintage aircraft.

Depends on the job. My Dad's job (I work for him, the whole family carpools to his work) we leave at 7-ish in the morning, get there at 8 and how late we work depends on what needs to be done. I do this every day I don't have college and we take sundays off. Usually.

Why do you think anime is popular with an age group outside of Japan that is older than it's target age group inside of Japan?

Today anime exists because there are people who just want a quick escape from their world into another world that requires no thinking.

Rather than facing their problems, they escape into anime.

Do otakus realize what they are doing?

Could I have have used that time to learn Japanese?

Probably more, seeing as I don't update my anime list as often as I would like....

I've spent two months on anime and manga.
