Standard school uniform (cotton shirt + long pants) here sells for about USD 20-25 per suit. That cosplay suits sells for USD 80. It's reasonable if it's custom made, and if he/she personally takes your measurement.

If more elaborate material like pleather, I understand. But for the Takeru costume is just plain fabric. 1 yard of plain cotton cloth costs probably 3 USD only. My mom was a tailor and she makes costumes for pre-school dancing troupes. Usually she bought satin, and a yard of cheap satin...
