The reason is: High maintenance compared to Japanese cars. People only look at your car's brand, and will infer that you are rich or from rich background driving luxury-branded car. Makes you a target from thieves and robbers.

Well... I personally don't prefer to get luxury brand cars such as Merc and BMW, even when it's pre-owned.
