Yes. For example, Alakazam thrives in its Special Attack and Speed stats, but its Attack stat is VERY low. You're best off with a nature that aids its Special Attack or its Speed while hindering its Attack (Modest: +SATK, -ATK, Timid: +SPD, -ATK). These two will allow Alakazam to excel to its full abilities.
