October 1st is our National Day. We have 7 days off. I went to my wife's hometown, it is a town near Shanghai. I got there by train. It takes about one hour. During this trip, all travellers should wear face masks just like take public traffics. All the working staffs have more protects. Besides of face masks, they even wear glasses and face shields as well. Expect for their uniform, they are no difference than medic workers.
During these days, many foreigners always ask us, "Can you Chinese really stop the COVID-19 virus from spreading? What about the winter Olympic Games next year?" This one could be a hard work, but we can do it well.

Recently, Omicron has been found in Africa and it could be another wave of Covid-19 strike. Besides, my business become harder and harder due to some mails were checked as PCR positive. First, clothes from Mongolia and then fruits from Thailand and frozen food from South America. These cause some local citizens were infected. Even these cases are not related about my shop, but many customers become distrust about the goods from foreign countries.
Dammit, no this one happening again. Is that so hard to stop this kind of virus? There is also a saying that about one million people will be killed this winter due to the virus is still spreading. It's awful, terrible... Sometimes life is too fragile.

I really doubt this whole thing about finding PCR positivity on the package's exterior being a source of import into the country? Especially if it's on the exterior of the packages.

A year ago, frozen food were detected as PCR positive and cause dozens of local citizens were infected in Dalian and this happened several months ago again. 5 months ago, a flight from India caused some Nanjing local citizens infected and it spreaded to several cities and this happened this month in Xi'an again. Now, Xi'an is locked down like Wuhan and the virus is still spreading. This winter could be a long hard one. As the Winter Olympic Games is about to open, we don't have any time to waste. But right now, someone still want to escape, this may cause more and more people infected.
Sometimes, we always ask ourselves. Is that freedom very important? What happened if we are sick? Got infected and isolated in hospital is just like in prison. You know, in our country, even your family member is in hospital, no matter what kind of sickness he/she got, visiting is prohibited. If he/she needs nursing, only one family member could stay with him/her. But this member need to have a PCR check as negative and report is in 72 hours, after 72 hours, he/she need to check again.
Well, my wife is in hospital right now. What I could do is only to give her any supply she needs. Even I have PCR check, I can't enter the ward, I could only bring the package to nurse station. Those who has not PCR check records in 72 hours even can't enter the building.
That damned COVID-19 virus. We are enough for this. I just wonder how soon could we stop it?

Remember, the vast majority of transmission is people to people. It is less likely that the flight caused infection, but instead someone on the flight. Someone who handled the frozen food is more likely to carry the virus than the food itself.
Proper mitigation is important; however locking people up without the ability to obtain food and supplies is cruelty.
I'm very sorry about the hospital thing, but in the US, most hospitals are limiting to one visitor per patient in the wards as well.

Although my wife had already left the hospital, she needs two months for recovery and return to her hometown for lunar new year. As Omicron has been founded in several local cities, it's quite danger to go out even the city is not locked down. I just left a message to my wife and this year, well, I am still lonely. I don't quite believe that Omicron could be the end of COVID-19 as it is spreading in many countries.
