I had my story finished once, but then I realized that the bad guy would react differently than how I originally had it, so I had to change it.
It use to be a timeskip until he arrived at earth for the final battle, but he wouldn't just leave the heroes alone during that time. He would send creatures capable of high speed movement through space to attack earth while on his way there. I avoided a time skip and instead turned earth into crap sack world as the monsters cause more collateral damage than the heroes. By the way, the heroes make Godzilla look like a kitten.
