I think I'll try messing about with MMD.
Miku Miku Dance. It's an animation software meant for creating Miku Hatsune music videos, but it can be used for other purposes.

And I might want to convince him to pirate more games for it.

I was saying that if you do get one you could easily hack it and upload english translated Japanese only games to play.
