That said, my brother's been offline since last night. I'm tempted to call him. 8-|

Well that's depressing.
Is it?

I don't find it a necessity?

I survived without it.

I mean, I can text people through Gmail. I'm on my computer enough for that.

I also can "text" people through Google Talk on my droid. If I ever turn on the WiFi on that damn thing.

Basically, if I need it for communications, I do have alternatives.

Otherwise, not worth the 323456456 dollars a month for it.

Our family's cell phone plan is still phone only.

No text. No data.

It's kind of silly, actually.

lol I like to use texting when a friend isn't online. I don't want to call them in case they are busy, and I'm not much for talking on the phone. As for Google Talk, not many of my friends have it.

My parents would never understand how to text. Or even use a smartphone without causing a nuclear explosion somewhere.

I mean. My mom barely knows how to use a DVD player (she's better at the VCR, not much better though). She knows how to turn on the TV, but don't ask her to change channels. She'll get confused.

8-| Most of my IRL friends have Google Talk. Not sure why, but nobody uses MSN and stuff at my high school, at least among my friends.
