So I'm playing Kingdom Hearts for the first time.

Every time one of the main characters open their damn mouth I want to stab my eardrums out.

WHY IS THERE MANDATORY PLATFORMING IN KINGDOM HEARTS?
The character controls slightly sloppily in the first place, and the jump in this game is NOT meant for platforming like this.

Combat so far is just the same couple of attacks, but I haven't progressed far enough to tell if it's going to be a mindless button masher with no soul yet.

I was a bit irrational at the time.
Platforming in a game with slightly sloppy controls does that to me.
What I wouldn't give to have tighter controls in Kingdom Hearts.
I've played so much Jak and Daxter series games recently that Kingdom Hearts controls feel kinda sluggish and sloppy.

I'd blame it on LCD TV lag, except I actually switched it to a tube tv and it's still doing it.
Once you get the high jump it feels a bit better.
That's pretty harsh, since Evangelion was sometimes really hard to follow.
I was talking about what I read from the manga.
I haven't played the game enough to give final judgement on it yet.
I've played 358/2 Days a bit today. The controls are much tighter in Days compared to KH. Combat is repetitive as hell though, even with the multitude of upgrades for the keyblade.
I at least don't hate the main characters in Days. I have yet to warm up to the trio in KH, though I'm pretty sure that they're all going to get separated somehow and Riku will turn evil for a while soon after where I'm at.
