I know it's not quite what you are looking for, but you can buy region-free, japanese language, hong kong DVDs here for relatively cheap. English subs included, I think.

I would NOT trust those DVDs if you're wanting decent subs. They're the same Shaman King set as I have.. after the first volume the subs go completely FUBAR. I'm good at reading Engrish (I seriously should have a degree in reading Hong Kong Engrish), but the third-to-last DVD makes completely no sense whatsoever to the point I had to read Wikipedia on what was going on.
Though if you're just wanting raws off them the picture quality is decent enough to rip and do what you will with them (the boxes are pretty neat admittedly). I usually just watch them raw anymore.
I.. THINK they're missing the last DVD on their site, too.
