Release threads now limited viewing for guests

I have just installed an option that allows us to only make the first post visible to guests in a thread. I've turned it on in the Release Announcements forum.

So now if a guest wants to get access tot he various direct download links that our users provide (staff too, I guess) then they will have to join the forums.

What is this going to accomplish? You want people to register just so they can download? I just don't see the point.

First posts always show the download stuff, if people want megaupload etc then they will have to sign up for it. It may also make more people be active rather than just coming to mooch.
