Hi all. I'm a new member here, and I'm pleased to say that I'm very impressed so far, but therd's something I've noticed that's missing.

Why do we have the original media, then the original media with subs, but no actual translation? Surely it can't be that hard to re-record the characters' speech?

I've seen quite a few series that have no english to listen to, and it gets annoying having to either listen to japanese people chatting all the time, or end up muting it. Am I missing something?

Eh, we just do normal subs, uncut, unedited that is why we have original media. If you want English voices watch the dubs (and FYI yes it is hard to re-record)

Fandubbing takes a LOT more time and effort, and we don't have that big of a fandubbing crew here.

And if you're annoyed by the Japanese chatting, then I suggest you go and buy some FUNi DVDs or something, and listen to their dubs. :>

FUNimation are the people who dub the anime shows. Just Google it and you'll end up there.
