Effectively the fad is delegitimizing the usefulness of fidget toys. And making lives difficult for everyone.

The problem I have with the fidget spinner fad is how people who clearly have no need for it is using it as a toy of nuisance, which makes people who use it for proper therapeutic purposes have more trouble getting accepted for using them.
