Taichi Question

So in the first episode of Digimon Adventure 02 I noticed that Taichi had a D-Terminal... and this confuses me. As far as I can recall Daisuke, Miyako and Iori were the first ones to get one, so was this just a mistake? I know there were a lot of Digimon games and drama cds that were released that may have explained this, but I have not played / heard any of them so... that doesn't help me much XD Does anyone know if this was just a mistake or if there's an actual reason for it that I've never seen or have simply forgotten?

D-Terminals are simply normal electronic devices found in the real world, if I remember correctly.

Hmmmm yeah I think I recall that now, and they were simply able to store the Digimentals inside of them after they went to the Digital World. I think it was because Miyako altered them but I forget now.
