SPLICE™ - a new word game!
Um, no, it's not a brand name, I just put the TM sign there for no good reason whatever, and now I'm requesting to get it removed.
It's a word game called SPLICE, kind of like a cryptic crossword, but with each clue being separate, and different clues joining together to make one word. A pair of numbers after the clue represent the number of parts to the word, and the number of letters in the final word, in that order.
E.g.:
Clue: It's Susan (2,6)
Train of thought: It's becomes 'tis, Susan becomes Sue
Final answer: tissue (both words come together)
Prefixes are not disallowed, though:
Clue: Supportive of a pool of filth (2,
Train of thought: Supportive of becomes pro, a pool of filth... the word "cesspool" fits here, so the word is cess.
Final answer: process (both words come together once again)
Alright, here are a few to start off:
1. Frozen water? No! (2, 6)
2. Possessed a harbour (2, 7)
3. Leisure knot (2, 9)
4. Decide, on a vote, a town on Rhode Island (3, 11)
5. A body part, with z less the "zard", in the place of a charged atom (4, 11)
Comments and criticism please!
