Here's some little extra tidbits from the background and mythology of the show.
- The main male protagonists, Taitou and Ryuukou, are played by Suzumura Kenichi and Sakurai Takahiro respectively. These two also starred together as Zack and Cloud in the recent PSP game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
- The name of the home temple, Rentsuuji, means Lotus Avenue Temple.
- Ryuukou himself comes from Touyuuji, another temple under the same religion.
- The religion followed by Taitou and Ryuukou's temples is one called Rikkashou. Unlike Shinto or Buddhism, the religion is based around morality. There are temples all around the country, but the headquarters, Rentsuuji, was created as a refuge when the Empire went to war. The temples are dedicated to looking after people who lost their homes due to poverty or war.
- The Kenkaranbu was wielded by the first Emperor, Kanbu. It is said that only he with the ability to rule the entire world can unsheath it.
- Souei, Taitou's father, is the leader of the Seiryuutou, Taishan's vigilante army.
- Ryuukou refers to Souei as "shikei" and Sonnei as "shifu". Both mean "Master", but at different levels. A "shikei" is the equivalent of "sempai", in that you are both disciples over the same master (shifu), but he is senior to you.
- You'll hear the word "karma" used over and over in this series. This is not the simple "three times returned" karma, but the Buddhist karma. In this case, it carries the dual meaning of "fate" or "destiny", spanning the multiple incarnations of the Seven Stars.
- For the interested, the Seven Stars that this series is based on are the stars of the Big Dipper (or Plough), and are as follows:

Tonrou - Dubhe
Bukyoku - Mizar
Rokuson - Phecda
Monkoku - Megrez
