Earth Hour - You in?

Earth Hour - You in?

At starting 8 p.m local time on March 29th, people will hopefully turn their lights out until 9 p.m their local time. There're major cities worldwide doing it, San Francisco changed their lights out day to match it.

I thought it was sponsored by Live Earth but nope. So, I know my parents will be like "no." but anyone know about it? Participating? I know at least someone will say yes, based on irc chatting, but what about everyone here?

It's now less than 8 hours until Earth Hour for me about 7 and a half. I've been trying to think of what I'd do during then. I think I'm going to turn my compy off at 7:50 p.m and then turn off the surge protector it's connected to. I was planning on playing my DS but it's battery powered... >_>; I don't think I can really read with the candelight. My parents will go "wtf are you using a candle for?"

XD I found a funny list "60 things to do during Earth hour." XD http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080328.wearth60things29/BNStory/National/home

i don't know my new area well enough to risk turning out the light making it look like no-one is home.

I definitely won't. I wonder how much the birth rates will go up...

One of the 60 things to do was to bet on the amount of births 9 months from now.

Around Christmas time if I add correctly. The week of.

I sat here with the lights on at 8pm might time, totally oblivious as to this happening.

I left the main living room light on, but other than that, my parents turned all the light off.

Not in. :x

Not much help it'll do, as things will be powered back up at 9. A tiny reserve only to be used soon. Now, if we cut electricity for a day or week...

With the exception of hospitals of course.

The reason I am online... ;-; and not compy unplugged.

My dad and mom decided they wanted me to get something for them. Which is taking awhile.

I've turned off all the lights though and the computer's getting turned off when I go to sleep.

I did it yesterday, but there wasn't much to do since we only had like, 2 lights on. They were the energy-saving types too.

We tend to have three light bulbs in the livingroom, the TV, my computer and one lightbulb in my room... MAYBE the kitchen lights. And this is a normal day.. you aren't getting the ONE LIGHT BULB in my room ;__;

Also, no we didn't go in on it after all. We had company over. Mom and dad went to bed early.. I guess that counts.

Me and my family weren't home all day today. I'm sure that helped a lot more than tonight's single hour.
