Computer Problem o.o

I don't know if I should post this here, but I suppose I will. When ever I try to install ANYTHING at all i get this message: access violation at address 00409806. Write of Address 00401000. I would like to know why it's happened, and how I could fix it. Help would be greatly appreciated!

First, try a scandisk. For when that does not work....
Could you tell us the programs you tried and what operating system you are using.
Also, assuming you are using Windows, did these address start with "0x" then the 8 digit code?

He's probably using windows. Most of the time you get a dumped core in linux

Yeah, but you know what assuming does. Looks like something is trying to write to the protected memory area.

I'd suggest re-installing your version of windows(assuming you're using windows) if everything else fails--->it helped me when i had a similar problem.

0_o I googled it and only found help in EVERY OTHER LANGUAGE THAN ENGLISH! I'd say try scandisk and what everyone else's suggested. When things start popping up about not being able to work with the HD I get suspicious that the hard drive is going out, but I've never had that message before o_o
