It doesn't display the life points, it allows you see see the AR that the Duel Disks generate. It also isn't really used for communication. Since you're only about a good 10 ft. from your opponent... It isn't the same. It doesn't even look the same. They have a different design.

It doesn't do anything a scouter does, and a scouter doesn't do anything the D-Gazer does. They are two totally different things.

Why does everyone say that? No, it isn't a scouter. It's a D-Gazer (Duel Gazer) it allows the wearer to watch Duels in an augmented reality setting, so the dueling in this season uses AR rather than holograms/solid vision.
