They do.
The plot... is more Heero's angst 90% of the time. And the second half did get a little confusing, but I was marathoning it back then, so who knows.
I really need to rewatch it.

Explains why Gundam Boyfriends is so good.
And well, just the concept of gundam boyfriends is a nice refreshing take on... well gundam, which is always... purple explosions and dead people and angst and romantic relationships that either go horribly wrong or has some sort of god awful backstory. Or just the general burden of war.
Gundam Boyfriends doesn't have that burden of war. It is so much more lighthearted and is a nerd fest, because who doesn't want a custom painted Kyrios or Unicorn Gundam. Or see a custom-built Strike pitted up against a custom-built Exia. Or just see the protags win a world championship with a Strike build of all things. OF ALL THINGS. The STRIKE.
