  • Reading into some of Hiromu Arakawa's non-Fullmetal Alchemist works shows a few oddly familiar faces. She openly admitted that Jean Havoc and Lust were based on Jack and Kuo from Shanghai Youma Kikai. Then there's Dr. Tachibana, who looks like Ranfan with glasses. And her latest offering, Manga/Silver Spoonfeatures Alex Louis Armstrong transplanted into a farming school in Hokkaido Japan, complete with sparkles.
    • Silver Spoon is full of these - the main character is a male version of Shezka, one major character is the spitting image of the first Greed, and one background character appears to be a younger version of Roy Mustang, to name a few instances.

Also Arakawa hails from Hokkaido, where there's a lot of farms. She always wanted to draw manga based on farms....
